Yes. Definitely.

 

The boards are placed in the trail at the locations where there are bogs.

Other than that it's all bare ground.

  The same is done in the Lake District. Can't have the ramblers and crag rats getting their nice expensive designer boots dirty.

Yeah. We basically have the same idea here.

You know you're on a "retail"  trail when you see people in flip-flops and carrying plastic shopping bags as their backpack.

Some of the officials claim that those boards are there for erosion control.

On the more extreme and remote trails there are no boards and no steps and no stairs.
