Lee1977 6,647 #1 Posted July 27, 2019 (edited) I did a deck lift on a 42" deck on my 312-8. It works as all four tires are three inches taller then the originals. It cuts close to five inches in the top position. That.s 1 1/4" lower then the original hole. There is another hole 3/4" lower I'm not sure I have enough height under the tractor for that one, This picture will show why it works on my 312. It's clamped to the ax;\le housings and also supported off the top of the transmission. I raised the seat bracket, gastank and fender 1 3/4" to clear the 25" tires. This is the reason for the winch. I could lift it using both hands with out any trouble, but it was almost imposible to get the lift unlatched. This cheap winch from Harbor Freight has to be disconnected from power when not in use as it will drain your battery. I have a long bolt on the ground and take it lose there. JAinVA 4,619 #4 Posted July 27, 2019 (edited) I have the same winch mounted to my crane tractor and I keep it connected continuously.I don't have any issues with battery drainage.I have two different models of that winch mounted in my application without any electrical problems. I may have just got lucky, but I did get rid of the supplied control setup and went with an aftermarket controller. Edited July 27, 2019 by JAinVA
Tractorhead 9,064 #5 Posted July 27, 2019 Cool build with the Winch. I think the power loss depends on steering type. if the wich was fitted by a Wireless remote, the powerdrain can be happen. if just with a cableremote it shall not drain power. About the Powerdrain: As simple workarround i would use a drilled Switch, that powers a Startersolenoid, what powers the Winch. For the Running times the Solenoid must provide the high Power, i see no Problem. simple solution and handling.
ronhatch 406 #6 Posted July 28, 2019 Great looking rear tires. What size are the rims? Are the front spindles custom or from something else? I installed 14" rims with 2" spacers and made longer front spindles for my now "High Clearance" 876, The down side is at 76, it's a little hard getting on and off! I just added the and brace to the stock 312 spindles for the little 6" rims .They are also stock 7" x12" rims. The tries are 25 x 900 x 12 All Trails II. I have 80 lbs. of home made wheel weights in each rear wheelI'll be 77 next month and still get around pretty good . I can't see to weld anymore .
