11ccantley 0 #1 Posted July 23, 2019 Hello all, I have what i believe to be a Wheel Horse C-160 with a Kholer engine and automatic (hydro) transmission. I have attached a photo of the model tag below (dont mind the pink lol) Ill explain later Can anyone help me with identifying if this tractor has posi / limited slip? And if not, what is required to make it limited slip.
pfrederi 17,879 #2 Posted July 23, 2019 No limited slip. You could round up a 10 pinion differential and use that but you may also have to change the mushroom gear depending what style you have
stevasaurus 22,866 #3 Posted July 23, 2019 Right on Paul...1976 C-160 Auto with 8 pinion trans-axle. It looks like he would have the 1 piece mushroom gear, so he would need the 2 piece mushroom gear with the 10 pinion trans-axle to do that. If he wants to. BTW....Welcome to Red Square
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #4 Posted July 23, 2019 I think this is a 1977 model 71-16KS02 Click on the fuzzy picture Garry
oliver2-44 9,865 #5 Posted July 24, 2019 Just remember with a limited slip differential the turning radius increases.

I have several 10 pinions and never noticed that they have a greater turning radius. i put a 10 pinion in a 310-8 and noticed no change in maneuverability.... pfrederi 17,879 #8 Posted July 24, 2019 Direct transmission swap no... Would need modification to linkages etc. To see if your Raider has functioning Limited slip jack up rear end with it in neutral spin one rear wheel the other should go the same direction if it goes opposite it is not limited slip. (Or the limited slip spring is broken)
