The table top needs to be drilled now for inserts then we can screw the two together. There will be ivory in the chairs and all the cabinetry handles are deer antler. All the woodwork is from the same tree, remember! Wasn’t for sure what to expect as I did not quite understand the blue prints, However talk about breathtaking!!! Wow you have a real talent! God has blessed you! 4

formariz 11,991 #130 Posted September 2, 2019 @pullstart Ensure that the fastening method to the slab allows it to expand and contract across the grain. Depending on atmospheric conditions that slab will change in width as muck as one inch. If it’s movement is restricted it will inevitably crack. Slots rather one round holes in base are one of doing it placing fastening screws in center of slots. 1 2
Pullstart 63,529 #131 Posted September 2, 2019 Thank you everyone for the kind comments! Cas, I drilled the holes in the strapping oversized so I can use large washers and allow for movement. I had the breadboard ends in mind when I drilled them

JAinVA 4,629 #134 Posted September 3, 2019 Really nice work! formariz is spot on with movement comments. When working with solid wood it will definitely move with the weather changes. That is the reason for raised panels in cabinet doors. Kev that is some amazing display of talent!
