Tractor boy

Went to drain the oil on my 1056 and found what I thought was the fill/drain plug. I slid the pan under removed the plug and nothing came out. Same result after i jacked it up about 2 1/2 feet. Not sure what the deal is. Please help........ and yes it is on stands. Had a tractor fall of a jack at work and have used them ever since

If the plug is original the plug requires an Allen wrench to remove. Clean dirt out of the hole and tap the wrench in to make sure it is seated. You don't want the wrench to slip and ruin the hex hole.

It is a tapered pipe plug so use a thread sealer and it does not need to be singing tight.

I would only use the proper hex key wrench unless the hole is already knackered.

Since nothing came out, i suspect your transmission has a layer of heavy gear oil/crud on the bottom.  Poke a heavy wire or stick up in there to see if it will start to drain.  Also sounds like that transmission may need to be flushed.  since it's already on jack stands, fill it with 2-3 quarts diesel or kerosene, run tractor in each gear for 5-10 minutes.  for a complete drain you want to raise the front of the tractor to get it to drain over the hump in the bottom of the transmission.
