In fact, I had to tap the box for screws and knock out all the tabs today while I’m cleaning up my mess in the basement. I’m happy to report that it’ll stay on now instead of leaning against the wall. The hardware store had no service panel cover screws, so I settled for standard 10-32 screws. look like sloppy wiring to the panel, when I used to do electric work I was taught to run all wires perfect, wired like it was a catalog photo. no twisting, crosses all 90 deg bends etc.. if not I had to redo it. boss was very big on that even though most of it gets covered up. 2 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

JAinVA 4,619 #9 Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) Electrical inspectors here would go ape over the exposed wires.When I built my shop I had it wired with a 200 amp breaker panel.The inspecter came for the final inspection and wouldn't sign off because of the exposed wires in the walls.You are going to have the wires covered with 1x6 boards.I go what, and he says if you hit one of these wires with a 2x4 it will cause a problem so you need to cover them with a 1x6.I tell him these walls will be insulated and sheet rocked but I can't do that until the electrical inspection is complete.Oh he says, here is the final.Have a good day.Morons are everywhere,sad part is that we have to pay their salary! You're never home so this stuff will last forever! Funny stuff Mike! So of course I wired my house myself and I put a cable jack everywhere I thought I might someday have a TV. I actually installed two in my living room not knowing how the room might be set up. Truth is with no kids at home now I only have two TVs tied to cable jacks.
