bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) An old screw hole has become an entrance for leaf cutter bees who are preparing brood for the upcoming year, Pat just did some research on this species apparently one leaf cutter bee is able to do the pollinating work of twenty honey bees. Bee makes an entrance at 0.09. Edited July 16, 2019 by bcgold
LengerichKA88 1,883 #2 Posted July 18, 2019 I made a house for leafcutters/ mason bees. They account for the majority of bee pollination. The houses are simple and I don’t know about anyone else, but I enjoy having food, so well keep em around. All I did for the one they used is take a 6-7in PVC post sleeve, secured one end, and filled it with cardboard tubes from amazon. While they don’t colonize, they do prefer to nest near each other.
