i don,t know what they are either, but i do know that you can get very sick from eating the wrong type. that being said i had an old tree stump that used to grow a very large singular mushroom, and i had a guy that asked me if he could have it, sure no problem. he explained what it was and said they were delicious . and i do like mushrooms on my burgers, pete

Reminds me of when I was up at Dawson City in the Yukon hunting morels, some of the other pickers thought I was nuts. I put my mushrooms inside a large black garbage bag then taped the bag shut around a hose that I connected to one of the vacuum ports on my trucks intake manifold.

My morels dried in record time without direct sunlight bleaching out the color

I kept what I had picked to bring back with me, and to top it off only had $20.00 to my name fortunately the highways dept hauled the derelicts off the highway to the landfill.

Most had half a tank or more of fuel and plenty of those blue plastic kerosene containers to store any extra gas that I was able to acquire for the long trip home.

I stopped at each landfill site refilling my truck and empty jugs from abandoned vehicles that had been towed in. At one point during this journey the fuel filter was becoming clogged about every 20 miles, had to remove it then add a bit of gasoline shake the filter then blow the crap out of it.

Then at one of the small village purchased a new filter with that $20.00 I had.

Spent six weeks in Dawson City and enjoyed every minute of daylight, there's much more to this journey probably enough to write a few chapters in a book.
