WildmanC120 613 #1 Posted July 9, 2019 (edited) Well I picked up this GT14 in the fall. I have not done much with it but I knew the hydro was real weak. Finally got it into the shop today and pulled apart the accelerator valve section to fins carnage in both side. Now...what parts do I need and where do I get them???? I need a small spring, a big spring and one of the plungers that goes into the small spring. I would upload pics but for some reason it says I can only upload 246k. Didn't know there was some kinda limit???? Edited July 11, 2019 by WildmanC120
ZXT 2,401 #2 Posted July 9, 2019 I think for non-supporters the picture size limit is 16mb - which means that you are way below the limit so It should've let you upload them. Try again in a comment and see what happens!

ZXT 2,401 #4 Posted July 9, 2019 (edited) Not being a supporter shouldn't have hindered you from posting the picture in the first place, but there's certainly nothing wrong with donating! I'll be following the thread to see what the outcome is. I need to up my knowledge on the internals of these hydros! Did you just donate or did you go to the supporter packages section? I just donated. I didn't see the supporter packages. Ugh. I was over my limit so that's why it wouldn't let me.

pfrederi 17,885 #9 Posted July 9, 2019 LJ Fluid power is best source for new parts. GT14s had hydro gears. beyond the tune up the service manual doesn't have much. WH viewed then as "Repair by Replacement" You can do some resurfacing of the pistons and valve plate in the pump side but the hydro gear for the motor isn't something you can resurface.

I don't believe there is an issue with any other parts. I just need the springs in the acceleration valves and one of the plungers. The hydro worked it was just weak. Probably will tonight so I can post the pics. I would like to get the pieces for this tractor and get it up and going.
19richie66 17,522 #14 Posted July 11, 2019 (edited) I tagged Karl @nylyon Maybe he can roll your donation over with the remaining balance for a one year supporter package. Well worth the $20. Hope you get your gt14 going full bore.! Edited July 11, 2019 by 19richie66

953 nut 55,812 #16 Posted July 11, 2019 I don't know if the springs are out there anymore, but a few years ago member @refracman was able to hook me up with a fellow who had the springs. Don't mix up the forward (one to the rear) and reverse (one to the front) valves as they have different size passages making reverse slower.

Hopefully he chimes in and we can get this sorted. If push comes to shove I can bring the pieces to a local machine shop and have that plunger made and I'm sure they can measure the springs and order something comparable. Just at what cost...
