Sparky-(Admin) 21,311 #1 Posted July 8, 2019 This is a 300 series I’m setting up for my son for when he and his fiancé become homeowners next month. Came across a great deal on 4 International Cub weights so 2 of them are going on his tractor. Adds 25# per side, it’ll also get a pair of 50 pounders on the outside of the rim before winter. 4

Achto 27,505 #5 Posted July 8, 2019 The IH Cub weights work out very well. I have cast weights on the out side of the rims on my plow tractor and a double stack of the Cub weights on the inside of the land wheel. 4

They sell easily once people see how versatile (inside or outside mounting) they are. 2

squonk 41,037 #9 Posted July 8, 2019 I bought some split weights for my 953 at the show. Each half weighs close to 50 lbs. Just got the hardware to mount them today. 200 lbs of ballast! 2
WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #10 Posted July 8, 2019 Cub weights on the inside and Massey Ferguson split weights (hidden behind the wheel covers) outside plus 5-6 gallons of methanol in each tire on my 520H... 5
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #11 Posted July 9, 2019 Being a dyed-in-the-wool plow dog, I have played with weights A LOT. The Cub weights are very versatile as mentioned about. They can be used in lots of combinations. They stack very easily on the big 54# WH cast weights like I have on GhostRider... as mentioned above by Dan, they work great inside the wheel and still give the clearance needed. My favorite looking weight is the one commonly found on CASE GT’s... You paint them to match your tractor, use some stainless or chrome mounting hardware and they really look sharp and add about 40# per plate. However, at the end of the day, any weight that you can add when needed is worth it! Well done Sparky on setting up your sons tractor for summer and winter use. That is my desire for each of my children if/when they get their own place. Thanks for sharing! 5 3

I have a 100 with rear PTO as well and would love to see some more pics of your rig. The trailer fenders look good too! Randy
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #13 Posted July 15, 2019 @RandyLittrell I don’t think I’ve ever started a thread about “the Mule”. It is a purpose built Plow Mule that I gave/bought for my son Judge. It is a very fun little tractor with nearly every option available on the 1964 Cub 100. If you like, I’ll start one to tell you about it...

Forest Road 594 #16 Posted July 21, 2019 Had Ags loaded w solid rubber years ago. They’re at least 100# each. Also run weights on the outside. I’ll have to shop around for some old cub weights. Traction is amazing as is. Year there’s always room for improvement. Still have to add 250+ suitcase weights to a bar across rear for snow blowing duties.
