Ksaunders 4 #1 Posted July 5, 2019 Hello everyone i need some help i just purchased a wheel horse 520 tractor used. I know nothing about them it has 650 hours on it. Could someone tell me what type of oils and filters i should use for the engine and the hydrostatic transmission?
lynnmor 7,354 #2 Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) I see you are new here. Here is the owners manual for a 1993, all years are about the same. 1993 520H I use SAE 30 year round in the engine, and 10W-30 in the transmission. Use any good brand, but if you can find oil with a rating lower than SN it might give better protection, for example Kohler has oil that might be a bit better. I use 122-0800 Onan or LF3338 Fleetguard engine oil filters. For the transmission, I use the NAPA 1410 hydraulic filter. Be sure that the rubber grommet is in place around the engine oil filter.
