Guest 88vic #1 Posted July 3, 2019 Since the Suburban 550 is almost done, I couldnt wait any longer to get started on the 701. Bringing her back to life. Some folks were confused, why ? Yes she is pretty far gone but my policy gets the best of me. "No Horse Dies On My Watch". Ill keep everyone posted on the progress. Have a great night everyone ! WHNJ701 4,165 #8 Posted July 3, 2019 that's a pretty little suburban! just note that the 701 most parts are specific just to that model

Guest 88vic #13 Posted July 3, 2019 Ive owned this bike for about 5 years now. Been a reliable ride, starts every year, runs strong. I run recreational fuel in it, no ethanol. Never had any problems.
troutbum70 857 #14 Posted July 4, 2019 I am not familiar with recreational fuel. Is that equivalent to aviation fuel? Up here in the boondocks our only option to stay away from ethanol is to pay the high price of airplane fuel at a small local airport.
Guest 88vic #15 Posted July 4, 2019 I think aviation fuel is 100+ octane. Rec fuel is 91 or 93 octane around my area.

troutbum70 857 #19 Posted July 5, 2019 They are about 20 miles north east of me, I have been told what they have is not 100 percent ethanol free. But I can't prove that one way or the other, I typically by high octane and add some dry gas never had any problem with that combination. I wonder if you are any where near Jay Maine, back through the 80's till mid 90's I hauled tons of paper out of the paper mill. When our contract came time to renew around 1997 we did not renew told international paper to go packing. IP was very dirty to deal with as compared to the Hammermill Paper Group. We hauled out of Jay, two plants in north east New York, Erie Pa and Lockhaven Pa they were our bread and butter after IP took over not so.
