A local CL listing popped up for a C-160 for $75 with a deck, needs battery and most likely a tune up!  As much as we all know it’s a great deal, I couldn’t make the call with all my irons in the fire.  I hope to hear about someone driving to Marshall for the deal of the century!

I’m sure I could soak that up into the cost of all new house mechanicals, right?  Mrs. Pullstart even agreed that if it wasn’t for our recent setbacks, she’d be telling me to get there ASAP!

I'm not going to say you made the wrong decision, not going to get that. But maybe you need a bigger fire? That way you can put more irons in it?

Nope. No. You do not need that. You got enough going on already.

Hahahahahahahaha

Believe me dude. Trina and I are right there with you. We had oil instead of water but unfortunately I know exactly what you're going through.

the biggest mistake is most people go way over board thinking they have to buy every single garden tractor under a 100 bucks with the mindset they are going to restore them all.  soon they have a yard full junk.  you can't save them all!

Your story is identical to mine, except that the one I bought yesterday had a tiller instead of a deck.. I probably shouldn't have bought it, but I didn't have the willpower.

Willpower - you hit it on the head.  These things are an addiction just like anything else that gives us that feel good feeling.  If collecting horses is the worst I do, then I figure I’m doing pretty good.

I feel the same way... There's a whole lot worse I could be doing.

And to be fair, I had been looking for a tiller since I didn't have any attachments other than a mower deck.. I just figured if the hydro unit turned out to be bad, I could use the engine off of it on my ditch witch that has a dead K321. For the price it was a no brainer.

Probably a good thing. We just spent 10 grand for new windows and in a week or two another 10 grand for a new roof. Add that to the 35-40 we spend on the remodel and even $75 might push the boss over the edge.

I had that in the back of my mind but I forgot that our granddaughter in Florida is graduating. I still can't grasp that our grandkids are getting so 'old'. We're heading down there in June for what will probably be an extended stay.

I thought about calling on it.... I work in Marshall, but I already have four and just about to leave for a week vacation in Nashville so it definitely wasn't in the cards for me.  Next time.
