cafoose 3,354 #1 Posted June 25, 2019 I have a tiller I got from Ed Kennell 7-1211 with old style mounting brackets using two belts. I got a later style bracket at the show from squonk to use the later style single belt arrangement. I still needed the mid hitch bracket. I found a whole tiller at the show with the mid hitch bracket I needed. Last night I started switching parts around and found out the shaft on the gearboxes where the big pulley mounts of the two tillers are different lengths. The 7-1211 tiller is in better shape and I want to use it rather than the tiller I just got. It looks like I need to either swap gearboxes or just the pulley shafts. The gearbox on the tiller I just got looks like it leaks somewhere maybe a seal or something? I'm not sure what to do about this. The first picture is the tiller I just got and the second picture is the 7-1211 I got from Ed Kennell.
WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #2 Posted June 25, 2019 I would say 99% of all the tiller gearboxes leak... I just check and fill as needed...but haven't used mine in a few years...but as long as you keep it topped off while in use you should be OK. 1
