8ntruck 6,991 #1 Posted June 23, 2019 I've decided that I will start shopping for a 42" or 48" RD mower deck this summer for my 14HP no name. Rookie question - I've seen recycler plates for decks of this size. What are they supposed to do, help mulch up the grass/leaves? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance. Stepney 2,325 #2 Posted June 24, 2019 Yes. They are a rounded insert with the Toro triangle-inserts. i cant think of the name for those pieces. Chops the grass up finer than just read discharge. They don't do too awful much for leaves I find. But for grass it looks much better than just RD'ing. There was no 48"RD, just a 42" for the largest. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
