Ritter 38 #1 Posted June 22, 2019 (edited) I bought a 312-A on a whim from the side of the road. I mentioned in an earlier post that it was because I really like my grandfather’s C81. It not only has fond memories, you just can’t kill it. Only problem with the C81 is the blade deck is rusting out in spots, and I’ll probably never find another one. A few of you asked to see pics of them, so I’m throwing them in. This forum is great. Edited June 22, 2019 by Ritter
Rfp55 33 #2 Posted June 22, 2019 I have welded deck shells with 16 ga. galvanized steel on bottom and covered with fiberglass on top so it doesn't trap stuff. If the mower means allot - it (deck) may be fixable by someone. Trade them lawn mowing.
Ritter 38 #3 Posted June 22, 2019 Thanks for the tip, Rfp.... that’s a great idea. I’m going to ask around.
ZXT 2,401 #4 Posted June 22, 2019 Looks like a nice pair of tractors! Did you get a deck with the 312? Just a tip, some brake parts cleaner and a rag will clean the overspray off of the tires. If you don't have any more attachments or another deck, go to the big show tomorrow! Only about a 3 hour drive from you and I'm sure you could find a replacement deck for the C81.
Retired Wrencher 5,441 #5 Posted June 22, 2019 Ritter nice tractor. It is always handy to have two instead of one. Enjoy.

I’ll try the brake parts cleaner. @ZXT and @Retierd Wrencher, are the rims on this 1986 WH 312-A supposed to be almond in color or silver? Thanks!
Retired Wrencher 5,441 #7 Posted June 23, 2019 I would say silver.
ZXT 2,401 #8 Posted June 23, 2019 They should be silver. Are the hub caps painted silver too or am I seeing things?
