The Tuul Crib 7,336 #1 Posted June 20, 2019 Now here is a sad sight to see. Here at work they were doing some work burying utilities in our parking lot. Of course we all know what this machine does but the point is it has been sitting in the same spot for over two weeks in the rain not covered up. And they wonder why it won’t start the next time ! I sure hope they don’t own a WH!! 2
ebinmaine 67,262 #2 Posted June 20, 2019 It's ok Randy. They almost definitely fill it up every time with ethanol. That should cancel out all the rain water..... Probably. 1
Achto 27,502 #3 Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Most small engines definitely lead a hard life. I still don't like to see them neglected. Think of the conditions that this poor little engine endures. Any one who has used a bedding chopper inside of a barn knows that the camera in this video does not even come close to showing how much dust is produced by one of these things. They must wait 30min or better in between shots, I've never used one with out wearing a dust mask. Edited June 20, 2019 by Achto

Not really sure why you think you would need to use a dusk mask though. It's hay. It's organic. It's just a plant. How much trouble could that possibly cause?? My eyes are watering just thinking about it...

Eric, have you ever baled hay or straw (square bales), and loaded or unloaded and stored them? If not, you have no clue how bad the dust can be. Want to know more? Contact me and I'll attempt to put you in touch with someone still baling the old way. Spend a day or an entire vacation loading a wagon or six or a dozen in the field on a wagon, or working in the barn. You'll get educated to real dust very quickly. You chop it up to create even more dust.........seriously......

I've been on the business end of a baler in the field. Tons of fun.
Darb1964 1,042 #9 Posted June 21, 2019 I'm cutting hay tomorrow on a 🚜of a long time friend, his father has what he calls farmer's lung. He is on oxygen all the time. Hay gets real dusty if you have to ted it a lot to get it to dry.depends on the weather. 2
