scoob8000 29 #1 Posted June 17, 2019 So a few years back I replaced the bearings in a new to me 48" SD deck (mid 1990s vintage). One of the spindles was missing the bottom part with the C clip groove. I popped a new bearing in and was good for awhile, but now the bearing keeps falling. Time for a new spindle. What's the best source for these now? My local guy tells me he can't get them, but I'm finding the housing for around $60 on Amazon or Jacks. Granted, I'd still need to find the C clip since mine is long gone. Any better options, or better yet anyone have one they want to sell me? Thanks!

peter lena 8,583 #4 Posted June 18, 2019 regular bearing failure should be the question, what are you using for grease ? lucas and royal purple have a high flash point on their greases , check that out , pete
scoob8000 29 #5 Posted June 18, 2019 Thanks guys, but I'm not going to be able to make it to the show.. Pete, I replaced them when I got the deck because they were worn and wobbly. The deck was in rough shape before I patched and cleaned it up. I usually use regular red grease and haven't had a bearing fail yet (knock on wood).
