(30 ton log splitter in the background that I used)

If you look closely, you can see it has an un-original Briggs and Stratton 8 horse engine.

Model# 190432

Type# 5535-01

Code# 88081510

As you can see I need the Raider 10 Raider 12 manual along with a set of Raider 10 decals.

The model # on the body is..

Model# 1 6041

Serial# 577983

I've cosmetically restored the rims, frame etc. everything but the running boards, engine, hood, mower deck, brackets and fenders. The tires are ATV and gained me 11" of circumference and 3 ½" diameter on the rear, so the original fenders won't fit. I also had a hard time removing one of the hub's, neither my three jaw puller nor my hub puller were even trying to work on it. In the act of removing it, I pounded so much that I accidentally popped the snap ring off the axle on the other side of the transmission. So I wound up tearing into the transaxle fixing the problems. But the offending hub was still holding on despite multiple applications of penetrating oil!!!

So I welded up a piece, using the heads off of two railroad spikes on ¼x2x4" steel plate to use as a ram in our 30 ton log splitter which finally worked, thank God! IMG_20190614_135004567.jpg.ab2f5f57a6141dd95eda15d0566daaf4.jpg

Then I made a gasket for the transaxle out of a piece of ¹/32" heavy duty cardboard which has never leaked. I lost the side drain plug for it but I think it's a ¼" Allen head. I'll upload the DIY gasket video on another topic. Thanks for all the help & support!

P.S. I would appreciate it if someone could help me find the manuals mentioned previously, namely raider 10/ 12 and a mower deck manual for a

Model# RM 356 mower deck.

Awesome work there!

Love the ingenuity and the ability to dive Right into something and figure out how to fix it.

I can't say that I would have ever thought of using a log splitter as a hydraulic press but there it is!! Absolutely wonderful idea.

@gwest_ca

or someone else should be able to fix you up with the manuals you are looking for.

@jkosackuk :text-welcomeconfetti: and nice work!  You might be able to use blocks to lift the fender over those awesome tires, they remind me of @19richie66‘s GT-14!

There was no RM-365 that I am aware of. RM-364, RM-366 and RM-367

Tractor manuals and more for 1969 model 1-6041. Look through them all because with this type of link they are all mixed up.

I have 25" diameter tires on my 312-8.  I cut 2" channel to put under the front of the fender pan a and a short piece of 4" channel with a 5/16" plate to box it and place it under the bracket that is bolted to the top of the transmission. The seat pan is raised 1 3/4".

As you can see I have a few other thing going on back there. The spacer is welded in with the receiver hitch that also supports off the top of the transmission.
