Is there a "puller forum/marketplace" where this all goes down? or how does it work? ebinmaine 67,423 #2 Posted June 12, 2019 Here in Maine they pop up on Craigslist every once in awhile but they're usually in pretty rough shape. I don't do any tractor pulling of any size myself but I do know that each class and a lot of different clubs have their own set of rules. If I was personally looking for a pulling specific tractor I think I would go to some of the pulling events and speak to the people that are in charge of them. Get a rule sheet. Figure out what you need to be competitive. you may very well find that someone there has one for sale because they are changing classes or tractors. You may also find that they may build you one or sell you the parts on the cheap for you to do it yourself. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
JAinVA 4,619 #3 Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) If you are looking for a puller to remove drive hubs, I doubt you will find anything usable for sale used.You will probably have to make one up on your own.Do a search for hub puller here and you will have an array of types to build.They can be basic or complex depending on the builder.I use a porta power 20 ton ram to do my hubs.You can see my version by searching this site using the suggested search title. You need flat and level area with no rocks. Grass is good. You also need some sort of stone boat with at least 1000 lbs of weight. How about using a Suburban front axle and use small Lawn Ranger front wheels? "Off the shelf stuff" but you will need to shim around the axle pin holding the axle to the frame so it fits tight. I'm not a puller so not sure exactly what you're wanting but those components will drop the front. From an Old ad on here.
