Have I bought a wheelhorse? (or what is it?)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've always wanted a wheelhorse and I saw this and jumped at the chance as it was a really good price in the UK and I thought it was a wheelhorse. But i'm not really sure now, it has a kohler engine and the deck looks like a wheelhorse one but could anyone shine some light on what I bought? In the UK wheelhorse tractors are quite rare and don't come up for sale often.

Thanks,

:WRS:  Unfortunately that is not a  :wh:, but it is a very cool looking tractor.

We'll do some digging to see if we can ID it for you.

Thank you for replying, could it be a jacobson chief? I'm going to pick it up soon but it's kind of a mystery

That would be very likely.

I don't think that the deck is not Wheel Horse either...probably Jacobson also.  Cowboy is correct...Cub Cadet snow blade.with bracket.  :orcs-cheers:

Thank you so much for the reply's it's been quite helpful, are these good machines? I've never seen one for sale in the UK before. Also, would i be right in assuming its a chief 800?

From what I can see of the engine, I think that you would be correct on the model being an 800. The 1000 would be a 10hp, and the 1200 would be a 12hp. You don't see Jacobsen Chiefs for sale in my area very often. Nice find!!:handgestures-thumbupright:

No need to be a stranger on this forum do to the lack of a :wh:. Many of us dabble in other brands. Keep an eye on our Euro Wheel Horse classifieds section for possible sales in your area.

You've made a good find there. You don't see many Jacobsens in the UK.

BTW. :WRS:  and introduce yourself in Europe intro's.

WHX??

:WRS:

Chiefs are definitely rare but did pass on one recently. The guy was supposed to send pics but never did and was always away.

Heres another nice one ...

Thank you for the comments, I've picked it up and it is indeed an 800. Absolutely no informaton or parts in the UK, everything seems to be in America.

If you need any engine parts, Meetens, Preston are good for them. You can Google them.
