Greetings,

I have a 69-70 raider 10 that I've modified with this forum's help to add a front mule drive (attach-o-matic).

When I purchased it originally, it came with a 65-36xr01 deck that clearly was never used on it.  the mule drive I have came with a single belt (Jason Industrial MXV4-880 Super Duty Lawn and Garden Belt, Synthetic Rubber, 88.0" Long, 0.5" Wide, 0.31" Thick).

I'm assuming that this one goes on the flat idler mule pulley and goes to the deck ?

What is the belt needed to go from the PTO to the V idler mule pulley ?

what's even weirder is that there is a picture (right of page 20 (fig 44) of "Mower Rotary 36in RD 1976 65-36XR01 OM  #803451R2.pdf" manual) that shows both idler pulley belt seems to go up to the pto, I guess I'm kind of confused.

thanks

Simon

Are you sure you have the correct belt?  It should be OEM # 102741... 97" long x 0.5"wide. The MULE DRIVE...  V pulley on inside...FLAT IDLER pulley outside.

1)Put belt on deck center pulley.  2) with cover off of front mule drive, route belt out around the V and Flat Idler pulleys. 3) loop belt around the INNER most V of the PTO bell.  4) use Knob on front mule drive to tighten the belt. 5) install cover back onto mule drive.  Shown here is a 42" deck and the belt routing is exactly the same for a 36 or 48" deck.

oh I was thinking there was two belts needed :).  this belt was "attached" inside the mule drive for transport so I assume someone used it at some point.  I'll see if there's enough length to my current 88 inch to route it.

thanks
