oliver2-44 9,684 #1 Posted June 5, 2019 So I stopped by an old Welding & Machine & VW Repair shop while I was down at the farm to get a part welded for my old Oliver loader. He said he'd knock it out, so I took a walk around, lots of old junk to look at. Spotted these 3 old engines and 2 old Outboards, can you help identify them. Are any of them worth trying to pick up for parts? Old Motor 1, Electric Start Old Briggs Motor Old Motor 3 Old Boat Motor, Maybe a 2 cyl Champion or Firestone Old Boat Motor 2 ? diesel cowboy 263 #2 Posted June 6, 2019 Can't help on the boat motors but engine one is a Tecumseh probably in the 5 or 6 horse range and I'm pretty sure the third one is a Clinton going from the tank and mounting brackets and the dipstick cap. In the last picture of it there appears to be the model and spec #s stamped in the shroud that wraps around the cylinder going vertically
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #3 Posted June 6, 2019 The one looks like a clinton 1290. The outboards are not worth anything...

oliver2-44 9,684 #5 Posted June 6, 2019 @clintonnut @stevebo Does that Clinton look like it would be worth picking up? it's attached to an old roto rooter machine. I'll try to get a better look/picture of the spec plate and the output shaft arrangement next time i am down at the farm.
buckrancher 2,679 #6 Posted June 6, 2019 the Clinton motor's model number is in the pic on the right I can not read it but the first set of numbers should be the model # the motor looks like a 498 or
ZXT 2,401 #7 Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) Looks like an electric start Tecumseh, about a 2.5HP briggs, and I'd guess the third is a Clinton based off of the carb. First outboard is a Firestone and the second is a Scott Atwater - the first was also made by Scott Atwater but rebranded. Not worth much, but they're good wall hangers if painted up nice. I see a VW flat 4 cylinder and head lying down there with the outboards as well. Edited June 7, 2019 by ZXT
