steelman 251 #1 Posted June 5, 2019 I picked up a model 7-1251 tiller yesterday. I wasn't able to find this model in the manual section, but there is a 7-1252 manual, which is probably a year or so older. It is complete with exception of the idler spring. Can someone give me an ideal of what spring will work? Maybe its not that critical but I want to mount this on a C100 for now but hope to eventually mount it on a C160, both mid 70's tractors. steelman 251 #3 Posted June 5, 2019 I have the lift assist spring that I use for the snowblower. This is a smaller spring that goes from the frame to the front idler assembly.
lynnmor 7,302 #4 Posted June 5, 2019 That is the lift assist spring, apparently he needs the much smaller spring for the pulley. My spring is 3-1/2" overall length, 5/8" diameter and is made from .073" wire. You should be able to find something at a good hardware store.
