cafoose 3,354 #1 Posted June 3, 2019 Trying to hookup the 7-1211 tiller I got from @Ed Kennell to my C-161. Where does the lift chain hook? I need a pin like the one for the rear hitch to hook the pivot mount to the tranny. Also I found that the one idler pulley is tight and I think the bearing is bad. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted June 3, 2019 The original 7-1211 had 2 belts driving it from the pto. The basic tiller could be adapted to later model tractors that used a single belt. I can't tell what you have. In 1978 this was the tiller setup that was supplied Compare the mounting hardware of the two models. You may be able to drill out the rivets on the pulley and replace the bearing. Machine screws/nuts and lock washers put it back together. What is the diameter of it. Looks similar to the tractor drive belt idler. Garry 1
Ed Kennell 38,024 #3 Posted June 4, 2019 Sorry I can't be of much help with where the chain hooks Chuck. The only tiller I have ever used is the walk behind I altered to fit the front of a dozer frame. The size of the bad idler should not be critical . Any vee idler from a drive belt or snow blower should work. I may have one that would work.
cafoose 3,354 #4 Posted June 4, 2019 This is the pulley I need and I'm also showing how I think the lift chain would hook up. Looks like it may touch the gas tank when fully raised. I'm thinking if I somehow attached the chain about where I stretched it, it would raise and lower the tiller.
Ed Kennell 38,024 #5 Posted June 4, 2019 I just went out and checked all my idler pulleys....I have 11, but they are all for the flat back side of the belt. Sorry, no V idlers. I would have dropped it off on my way to Dover tomorrow night.

Dakota8338 115 #7 Posted June 5, 2019 That bearing should be replaceable, but I did not see both sides of the pulley to be certain.
