clueless 2,976 #1 Posted June 1, 2019 Can I post a post from another garden tractor site?
wallfish 16,985 #2 Posted June 1, 2019 IMO You can just post a link to it if it's appropriate for here. Members post links to all kinds of different stuff on here. Is that what you meant or did you mean copy and paste the whole post on here?
stevasaurus 22,708 #3 Posted June 1, 2019 I know that I have posted links...one being for "electrolysis" . Copy right issues may be a reason to not post from another site, but there would be nothing wrong with para-phrasing. Chris, why don't you send me a PM. I can find out if there is an issue.

formariz 11,987 #5 Posted June 1, 2019 Actually that is a very good question that sometimes I wonder about. Many times I have posted stuff from another site and I wonder if that is indeed appropriate.
stevasaurus 22,708 #6 Posted June 1, 2019 Cas, that is why I left it here. I know it can sometimes be an issue, and then we take it down. Normally, a thread like this would be in "Talk to the Mods" or maybe "Site suggestion, updates, issues". I think this is something we should see what the thought process is. It would only be visible to Chris and the Mods in the 1st option, and, (I think) only supporters would see this in the site issues section. We will leave it here for now. one of the problems with links to other sites...you may have to be a member to see it...if you click on the link.
953 nut 55,075 #7 Posted June 1, 2019 I'm no lawyer, I haven't even played one on TV, but anything that is on the internet seems to be public domain. As long as you give attribution to the source there shouldn't be a problem. Also, if it is incorrect information you can blame it on the source! 1
stevasaurus 22,708 #8 Posted June 1, 2019 In our thread "What are you Listening To"...it is full of links from You-Tube. Some of those have been removed by either You-Tube or who put them on You Tube.. They were not removed by Red Square. The old Photo-bucket had it set up where you could make your photos either Public or Private. My videos on You-Tube are set up as Public...anybody can see them, link to them and basically use them as they would see fit. Richard, we had an issue with the "Static Start" posting that was on this site. The Author got in touch with Karl and had him take those links down, and copies of that post. Copying live stream stuff, like golfing, railfan stuff, shiping, etc is all protected on their site and is stated so. I would think all sports live streaming is protected. I'm not sure just saying that you got this from CBS/Sports would make it OK to post pictures or videos that you captured from live stream. I would think, as long as you are not selling pictures that you captured, or putting those images on T- Shirts...they may not take you to court...just threaten you with taking your horses.

Funny, there is good information in the Kohler manual on "Static Timing" so I will probably need to do my own write up on the subject and post it here. Did they pull down the post I did on Static Timing of a starter/generator equipped kohler three mounts ago just because I included his link?

I don't think Matt Gonitzke can have a copyright on the term "Static Timing" because it is in the Kohler Service manual (dated 1990) in our Manuals Section on page 72. What he can have a copyright to is the errors that he made in his document dated 2010! In the mid 1960s I had a VW Bug and the "Static Timing" process was used on it too. rmaynard 15,427 #11 Posted June 2, 2019 (edited) I don't think it was a matter of copyright. If I recall correctly, the problem was that a member here copied Matt's article word for word and implied it was his own. Edited June 2, 2019 by rmaynard
clueless 2,976 #12 Posted June 2, 2019 (edited) Okay, their good on the other site and it looks like it's okay here, I may just paraphrase it anyway. I just didn't want to break any rules. I'm not to worried about being suited, all they would get is a building full of old garden tractors, an old Boston Whaler, old Toyota truck, a 43 year old house and a 63 year old women, all in need of some kind of repair. After a few days with the women, they would give it all back . Edited June 2, 2019 by clueless 1 4
