Anyone ever use p o r 15 on the inside of a mower deck?

Yes, there are lots of threads on here about PRO-15 as a deck undercoating. Here is one.

POR-15 works best on clean steel.  Sandblasting and degreasing should be part of your prep.

not that sees the sun but por15 needs to be top coated it breaks down with uv rays,  the last few decks I redid I just used gloss rustoleum just to use up odd ball cams laying around

I sand blasted and put two coats on the bottom of my sons 42” SD deck. This will be its 4th summer and it’s holding up very well. His yard has good grass and very little sand to erode it.   I didn’t put a top coat since I just did the bottom side.

There are quite a few excellent choices out there. I also went with POR15 and it's holding up great. Proper preparation is key with any of them. :)

Actually, POR-15 loves rust. That's what makes it stick! You need to clean off the loose stuff and make sure there are no other contaminants, but other than that, leave the rust in place and coat over it.
