Deck leveling

Recommended Posts

Weidjd

Hello, just purchased my first WH a 520H with 48” side discharge deck. I have tried and it won’t level. Read over the procedure but when I go to adjust the lock nut nothing happens. Thinking might be the chain link setup for transport? Or? Can get pics if needed. Really like the tractor so far. Thanks for any info.

I think you will find the information you need in this thread.   If not please post a couple of photos of the deck attachment points.

Let me know if any more pics are needed. Also, what all do I need to add a plow besides the frame and plow itself? Thanks

What is the model number and serial number of your tractor?

Some long frame blade A-frames are not long enough if you have the swept forward front axle. Some later models I think are long enough.

Also required is the rear axle hitch also used by the tiller. The hitch is part of the blade and illustrated with it in the parts lists.

These pages show the chain location on the lift. Click on the picture and again on the page that comes up. One is for manual lift/standard transmission and the other for hydro lift.

Thanks for the pics. I figured after looking at the tractor for a while yesterday it was the chain setup. Best way to get to adjust nut for the chain? Added pic of SN.

Chain is all the way adjusted and on correct spot/holes. Hits the foot boards like manual states.  Am I missing something? First WH so that is what I ask. Thanks

If the deck is equal measurements down from the frame on both sides (within reason, they don't need be within 10,00ths of each other) then it's probably hanging correct. If one rear tire has a bit more air pressure than the other it will offset the level of the deck to the ground. An easy to overlook problem as most people won't notice if one tire has a slow leak.  Air pressure in the rear tires can also be used to adjust and tweak it if needed so the deck runs level. Just don't over do it with any high air pressure as the tires have a limit but you can let air out and reduce pressure as well. :twocents-02cents:

Your tractor is a 1996 model and there is an attachment list here. The D&A is Details and Attachments. Click on the fuzzy pictures.

The above info came from this more complete attachment list
