Achto 27,716 #6 Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) We showed up at AJ's enjoying the nice sunny 60+ weather, perfect day for a show. By the time we were done plowing and playin with the stone boat a thunder storm rolls in. This kinda stopped me from strolling around to get more pic's. I was quite happy sitting under a canopy shooting the breeze with @stevasaurus. Fact is the only pic's that I came home with are the ones that Cindy took with my camera. So I'll share some of those with you. Radpferd turning a little dirt. After burying the plow as deep as i could get it, I couldn't seem to make the engine work. Couldn't even get any smoke out of the pipe. No added weight, 2nd gear at about 1/2 throttle & I was running other guys down. This Horse is kind of a Clydesdale. Jim getting the rings seated on his 1055. With out added weight his tractor had no problem pulling a plow. Some other brands struggled a bit to do the job. Next we had a chance to play with a stone boat. A Cub Cadet with duels on was up before Radpferd, They had to drop down to one added weight in order for him to move it. I hooked up with the single weight on the sled. Mover about a foot & said too easy guys. So they threw another one on. Another foot or so & I said a little more please. Keep 'em coming boy's!! At this point the belt started to chirp a bit so I decided to call it good. Still no smoke out of the stack. It was like we were just cruising in a parade. Towards the end of the track I stopped to up shift but lost traction. Jim hooked hooked up. He had some traction trouble getting going. After he was rolling I added my weight to the equation. His 1055 purred right along with no issues. All in all it was a good show even if the rain chased some people off. It was good to talk with people that I hadn't seen since last year. PeacemakerJack 10,738 #9 Posted May 20, 2019 Those ‘s sure look good! Dan—Radpferd looks right at home rolling soil and rollin’ coal! That is a sweet tractor for sure. How did he do with the plow? He looks like he wasn’t even breaking a sweat! You’ll have to post a few pics and your thoughts in our plowing thread, if for no other reason than to document it there. Jim—the 1055 looks sweet as well. Sorry I missed the show but Caleb’s state track meet took precedence. We faced similar “liquid sunshine” in Waupun on Saturday for that as well. Thank Cindy for the pictures. 1
WHX?? 49,100 #10 Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) 12 hours ago, Achto said: traction trouble getting going. Yes although the tires look cool I'll be the first to admit they are not the choice for traction. This was pretty slick clay dirt tho but I did notice a guy laying down lime. I don't get why they work good on skid steers and such. Fluid and weights would definitely help. Some more other brands & customs... The show's host has an collection of vintage stuff that just does not quit! All neatly displayed. Dan getting a little seat time on the 1055 when loading. stevasaurus 22,841 #13 Posted May 23, 2019 How cool is that?? I never win any thing!! I handed her my ticket on the way out...just thinking. You guys keep that stuff...I don't shine up my horses...they are workers. You have the shiny stuff Mate. You know...I had a year (now that I think of it)...I think it was 2010. I won the raffle tractor at the Big Show and that was just the start. won multiple prizes at Charlott and then again at Scott's M&G. What a year that was. Is it possible that I might bring home another raffle tractor this year??
