Seems it would really help to keep that hood from rocking around It's not round it is about 1/2" x 1/8". Was added to those models at some point. my 312-8 and 1989 520-H have them. Not sure what year they were added. The early models didn't have them.

Pullstart 62,879 #81 Posted August 7, 2020 Forgive me for my ignorance y’all, I noticed the combination of a hydro and a brake band? Is this the only tractor equipped as such, or is every Eaton 1100 this way?

cleat 5,977 #86 Posted August 8, 2020 Your project is coming along beautifully. Just one thing. Your engine plate is upside down. Hate for you to get the engine bolted down to it then have to switch it.

76c12091520h 3,620 #94 Posted November 5, 2020 Installed the steering shaft and wheel (didn't forget the ANTI-SEIZE ) and the pto safety switch and bracket(with a serrated stainless bolt). Shimmed the steering column as needed to remove play in the shaft, and also installed some hard fiber washers on the control levers to eliminate any slop.
76c12091520h 3,620 #95 Posted November 12, 2020 Went back into the hydraulics and swapped out the long hose that runs to the bottom of the rear axle, switched it over to a newer style hard line instead of the rubber hose. It routes completely different (under the lift/hydraulic mechanisms instead of over the top, really cleans things up in the center console area. installed the hood hinges, put a small section of heat shrink on the stops for the hood hinges so there isn't any metal on metal contact, installed the pto lever and installed a foam pad where it contacts the stop, and installed the front closure panel with the relays on it.
Pullstart 62,879 #96 Posted November 12, 2020 Are those hard lines custom, or just a later design? I wonder if any other tractors could be made into hard lines?

The hard lines are factory correct for newer 520's(mine's a 91). I would have liked to changed out the other long hose too, but the tins are different in the area around the lines and I wasn't cutting sheetmetal at this point.
