HELP!  The drive belt keeps coming off our garden tractor.  It has been to the dealer 4 times in the past two months.

If it’s been to the dealer for this belt problem 4 times you should be looking for a new dealer.

So was a new belt installed? Can you tell us the part# of the belt? If the belt checks out good then maybe the idler pulley is shot. It has a small bearing in it and if it was completely shot it could cause the idler to not be aligned.

 And of course...:WRS:

At the engine pulley, there is a BELT GUIDE that keeps the belt from jumping off of the pulley.  Dealer MAY have taken this guide off to replace the belt, and didn't put it back on.  It is # 19 in this schematic.  Secondly...the OEM belt should be # 108501 which is  TORO 81 x 5/8"  or WHEELHORSE 81.5 x 5/8".  If an aftermarket belt is installed, that alone MAY be the problem.

:text-welcomeconfetti:You've come to the right place, lots of friendly help here.

What Dave said is a great place to start.

Check if that belt guide #19 is in place.

Check your dealer receipt or call the dealer and verify what type of belt was used. (wheelhorse pulleys and there proper belts have a slightly different angle than aftermarket belts.
