broomman 0 #1 Posted May 13, 2019 I have a c 101 with snow blade . My problem is i can hardly pull the lift arm to lift the blade up any more. I was wondering if it may have the wrong blade on it. I can not find the stock number on it. can i measure the hook up to see if it is right one. I had the motor over hauled and it does not lack for power. I am 77 and had open heart surgery 3 years ago. I may have to get a new one but some of my friends say i will be sorry. thank you for your time.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted May 13, 2019 Welcome to the forum. Check this illustration against where you have the lift link attached. Top left corner. The closer it is to the shaft the easier it is to lift but won't lift as high. This illustration is from a different model but this part is the same on all long frame tractors which is what the C-101 is. Garry
ebinmaine 67,283 #3 Posted May 13, 2019 to I'm inclined to agree with your friends. I'd rather modify a great old Horse than buy a new cheap disposable. Folks have been known to add lifts to the plow frame using electric winches or even adding a whole hydraulic system.
JAinVA 4,619 #4 Posted May 13, 2019 (edited) Provided all linkages are hooked up as per the file mods post you have a number of alternatives. As Eric points out.electric winch, hydraulic conversion or the electric lift actuator made by Wheel Horse.I believe one of our members has an electric lift setup for sale.If that appeals to you post a wanted add in the classified section.I believe we would all like to help you keep the WH and will try to make that happen.
