314 deck belt

Recommended Posts

I’m changing the deck on my 314 from a r/d to a s/d. Having a heck of a time getting it lined up. I have the tensioner all the way out. Is there a difference in belt length between the 2 decks that would allow more travel for lining things up?

there is a belt difference of about 6" in length , as far as lining things up , the deck frame is the same dimension , make sue its  INSIDE THE WIDTH  OF THE TACH A MATIC  FOWARD MOUNT.  the line up on either deck should be the same, only the pto drive belt is different.  is that the issue ? pete

Yes that’s the issue, not long enough to move the deck back to line up the brackets. Do you know what length that belt is?

Drive belt 102741 (1/2" x 96.6") for C-Series tractors (Gates replacement BladeRunner 6638BR 17/32" x 96.75")

From what I see the side and rear discharge decks used the same drive belt.

Perhaps the deck you have was from a medium frame tractor which used a shorter belt

Drive belt 102607 (1/2" x 89.12") when used on medium frame 43-1/2" wheelbase tractors

There may be a problem with clearance between the rear tractor tires and the deck.

They do not list a 36" side discharge deck for the 314. Rear discharge only.

The last 36" side discharge deck made was in 1984 and 1985 was the first year for the 300-Series.

I believe they are both 42 inch decks, on a 314 not a series of that makes a difference

Sorry about that.

42" rear discharge drive belt 108834 (1/2" x 98")

42" side discharge drive belt 102742 replaced by 94-2501 (1/2" x 103")

5" difference so that should move the deck back 2-1/2"
