I got a seal for my 520h and I believe it's the wrong one.

I got part #11124.

What is the part number for the thicker seal?.

Guess I don't know what your saying about the thicker seal but I use a 11124 SKF seal from NAPA. Works fine lasts a long time for me. Installation issues perhaps we can help out with?

The stock seal I took out is twice as deep as the #11124 seal.

The seal for this application is of single lip construction. One elastrometric element with a metal mount.Put in what you have and it will work.

The 11124 will work just fine.  modern seals are thinner than they used to be.

That's bizarre .. every one of the OEM ones  I changed out was like the 11124's. Check the shape of that outboard bearing while you have the hub off. Any slop and you will be wasting money on a new seal. Also don't forget a little black tape over the keyway. Guys have been reporting the sharp edges can nick the seal.

Yes .. Thanks for the link @gwest_ca
