Blades & wheels for 5-2362 Deck

Recommended Posts

71_Bronco

Recently picked up a Commando 8, which came with a 5-2362 deck. Since I'd like to use the deck, I would like to get a new set of blades. I'd love to get a set of the Oregon Gator Blades (work awesome in my push mower).

Looking up the parts diagrams, it looks like they are part number 8777 / 52233. When I look these up, genuine Toro blade are over $100

Is this what I'm stuck with, if I want to use my 5-2362 deck?

On a side note, I also need a pair of the rear wheels. These look like toro 6749, over $80 EACH  From what I can find (on an old RS thread), these wheels are 1-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" Dia.

Is there any other cross-reference number for these wheels I can use?

I tried looking on McMaster for some wheels that size, but all they sell is 5" and 6" diameter. :bitch:

Thanks!

I saw those in my search. We'll see how high they go.

8777 blades are for a 32" width of cut.

8014 blades are for a 36" width of cut.

Click on the fuzzy picture

An alternate wheel 2877 replaced by 110506 is listed on a supplement page

To get a little more mowing height I use 7" wheels on my SD 42" deck.  I still can mow plenty low.

Those 7" blades must leave some wide stripes Jim.     :ychain:

I forgot what site I was on, but it listed the blades (8777) as fitting both the 32" and 36" deck. Thought Toro somehow made it work with the same blade and changed the overlap on the cuts.

As to the 2877, I was looking at that wheel. I'd rather go bigger with my wheel than smaller if I do an alternate. I typically like my grass a little longer (even though I will cut it shorter at times if I know I will be missing a week for cutting)

The 2877 replaced by 110506 is 6" x 1.75" if the wheel used for the picture is accurate.

https://www.partstree.com/parts/toro/parts/110506/

The reason both blades show up in an ipl is the 32" and 36" decks share a manual because they are so similar. The online parts lists don't distinguish what models use what part and that is a problem for us. Only the original parts list make the distinction.

You will find this happens with tractors and attachments.

Some ipl's will cover 6 different models of tractor only because the main difference was the 6 different engines and associated parts used.

Thank you all for the help. There is an NOS set of blades on eBay (8014) for $75 ($65 + $10 shipping). I'll have to keep my eyes out for them.

I may just suck it up and buy them, to get accurate dimensions to send to Oregon to try to cross-reference some Gators.

Stens have a replacement wheel. Click on the picture.

Being a gear driven deck the blades rotate in opposite directions so there is a left and right blade. Very few decks today have blades rotating counter-clockwise making it hard to find a left blade. Simplicity is the only one I can think of having some decks with a left side discharge.

Don't know if you will be able to find aftermarket as one turns clockwise and the other counterclockwise.

The three hole mounting and double D center hole might be tough.
