Well the sand blasting didn't work. It's a long story. But the wire cup did pretty good. Hopefully it holds up! Regal red is a little brighter than the new Toro red but it's close enough.

The 3/8" x 7 carriage bolts are not working. I wanted the square head in the weight (not rim) so they didn't stick out, but 5 out of the 8 spin when I try to tighten them down. Does anyone know if the 1/2 will fit? Looks like it will be close. Guess I will get some and try it out.

Yes 1/2” carriage bolts will work.  I recently mounted my weights and that’s what I used

Turns out I already half inch bolts🙄. My issue is that the square hole on the weights measures 5/8 across. The square hole in the rim measures 9/16 across. I want the bolt to lock in the weights so I'll need the round end to clear the hole in the rim. It will be close.

You should have enough threads showing between the weight and rim that you can grab it with vise grips to tighten your nut

This worked! Thanks a ton. The one weight must be slightly warped because the one bolt didn't line up, so I have one side running with 2 bolts.

Glad you got them on.  Looks good. 👍

Your side that you can’t get all your bolts in, is more than likely a alignment issue.  Loosen up your two carriage bolts and stick the others in.   You will have to move the weight around or rotate the tire.  Once there all in tighten up.

That was my thought too. But after messing with it for 30 minutes, moving to different holes, switching bolts etc I decided it wasn't worth it.
