Sarge 3,463 #8 Posted May 8, 2019 We have had an explosion of rabbits around this area for the last 2yrs - they are everywhere, literally. The owls, hawks and other raptors are trying to knock the population down, but they are losing the battle so far from my observations. The Coyotes are also becoming bolder than ever and trying to hunt them in town which is getting interesting with the domestic dogs around here. I hit a nest of little one's last year and killed all but one of them with the mower deck - you would think the noise alone with force them tighter into the hole but they did otherwise and died a pretty gruesome death. Hopefully, the trend will reverse soon before any disease starts becoming a problem. Sarge Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Dakota8338 115 #9 Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) We have always had an ample supply of rabbits, based on sightings, until the coyotes showed up. We still see a few rabbits from time to time, but based on sighting, their population is a whole lot less than before the coyotes moved into the neighborhood.
