trailhopper 49 #1 Posted May 5, 2019 I'm considering running 18x8.50-10 wheels and tires on a swept axle 520H. I would have to do the trailer hub upgrade on the 520H, but I was contemplating that anyway. Anyone have pictures of 18" front tires on their 520H? I'm also curious to know if there's any clearance issues with a 60" deck? Any other issues to watch out for? Looks like the 48" deck will clear fine. I'll probably increase the size of the rear tires to compensate as well. -Scott
WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #2 Posted May 5, 2019 16x7.50-8 is/was factory, so 18x8.50 is technically only 1" taller and 1/2" wider from center...and I believe they would fit the factory wheels without having to change over to trailer hubs, as the 520 does have the heavy duty spindles with automotive grade bearing/s... JMO.

JMO. Agreed, I was just trying to anticipate any problems doing so and maybe hear from somebody that has done it. Going to a 10" rim may also open up some tire possibilities as well. I'm undecided on what tires to use ( I have Kenda K502's on my 314-8, which are great) but thought that going slightly bigger might be nice, and add additional height for the 60" deck, which seems to be a complaint. -Scott
ericj 1,578 #4 Posted May 5, 2019 I have 18x8.50x8 5 ribbed on my loader tractor looks okay, might be able to get some pictures if it ever stops raining here eric j

I'll either do the rib/chevron combination or the Kenda K502s again if I go to a 10" rim. What size tire are you running on the rear? -Scott
ACman 7,628 #6 Posted May 5, 2019 Those are stock size on my kubota BX2230 and a 26x12-12 on rear. Probably have to raise fender pan make some room.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,148 #7 Posted May 5, 2019 Something I have noticed the 16", 18" and 20" tires now are all an inch shorter. Garry

That's where I got the idea. I was looking at my BX25D (BX2370) front tires. Not convinced I want to do 26" rear tires though. Maybe 24" or 25." Do 24" or 25" rear tires fit without modifications? I would guess 24s would without issue, but don't know about the 25s. I'm thinking I'd like to try a 25X11.00-12 in rear and 18x8.50-10 in front. I'd rather not lift the rear fender/seat pan unless I have to. I was hoping someone had already fit the 18s on the front with a 60" deck and 25s in the rear. 10 minutes ago, gwest_ca said: Something I have noticed the 16", 18" and 20" tires now are all and inch shorter. Garry I have found the same to be true. The Dicos that are on it now are an inch shorter than advertised too. -Scott
roadapples 6,983 #9 Posted May 5, 2019 I tried 25x11.00-12 four wheeler tires on my 520 and they did rub. Can't remember the brand...
ericj 1,578 #10 Posted May 5, 2019 My loader has been converted to 26x12x12 by the previous owner. He lifted the fender pan by I believe 1". I don't have any clearance issues becuase I have them on a loader tractor, so I can't give any opinion on fitment.Rain hasn't let up here today to get the tractor out and take pictures, maybe tomorrow. I'll try to one day this week, hopefully sooner then later eric j
