Moldboard id

I acquired this moldboard in a parts lot I purchased from an old farmer. He told me it was an old wheel horse branded plow, but I’m skeptical. Someone painted it the worst color possible. There are no markings on it but I can make out the outline of some old decals on the main arm. What I can make out makes me think it’s a brinley, can anyone identify it? If it is a brinley does anyone have the proper paint codes for it and pics of what it should look like. I plan on a mild restore then using it behind my c 160. Thanks all for the help

Sure looks like a Brinley, but know that Brinley did make plows for Wheel Horse.  Take some acetone on a rag and gently wipe the paint over those stickers.  The paint will soften and finally come off without ruining the sticker   It does not take too much time to do this.  :orcs-cheers:

If it were a brinley made for wheel horse would it have been wheel horse red? Would it have brinley or wheel horse badging obit. If they were wheel horse would they have been the oval shape that the outline indicates?

I am not an expert on what you are asking.  I would guess they were red...Brinleys are usually white.  Take a look in the Implements Gallery on the main page...we have some examples there.  Not sure what you mean by "oval" shape...and I am not sure if Wheel Horse ever actually made their own plows, or just branded them.  :eusa-think:

In my third picture it shows the shadow imprint of an old decal. It appears to be oval shape. I know brinley decals were shaped like that, not sure if the wheel horse decal had a similar shape to it

Brinly did make plows for WH. I have a 8" slot hitch plow that has Brinly 8 stamped on the mouldboard

The top decals look closer to what I have. I’ll try the acetone to try to make them visible
