Cetan08 311 #1 Posted May 3, 2019 Just curious as to wether anyone has ever built their own spindle Assemblies for wheelhorse mower decks. Every time I see a got sold it rarely come with a deck. Parts are out of this world when you find them and a deck costs more than a got. I have a 416 and a 516 both without a deck and a C-121 that needs spindles. adsm08 2,022 #2 Posted May 3, 2019 I can't say that I have tried myself, but if you find the right supply house I can't see where it would be difficult to put something together. They seem like pretty simple bits.
JAinVA 4,619 #3 Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) I don't quite understand what your question is.Spindle assemblies for practically any WH deck can be rebuilt or assembled from new parts. It is usually a matter of what is affordable to you.Deck shells are another story. Most are rotted badly or perforated and need welding to be serviceable.I have been fortunate that all of the machines I have gotten came with good decks. With that said I won't buy a machine if it doesn't have a servicable deck even if I don't need another deck. Since most of these machines are used to cut grass why get one if you don't get its major attachment? Edited May 3, 2019 by JAinVA
