Ebay delivery late again!

Recommended Posts

The Tuul Crib

Has anyone else been ordering from eBay and the items have been coming late a lot? They guarantee by a certain date and it doesn’t arrive on that date .  This has happened the last four times I have ordered something. And they sent it out by FedEx to the Postal Service and then the Postal Service delivers it.  How about the partial goes  past its destination onto somewhere else and then comes back!!

I had this issue with the last item that I ordered off :techie-ebay:. It was to ship USPS coming from California. Following the tracking it went from the west coast to the east coast then finally back to Wisconsin. My item was only 2 weeks late.

I have found that Fedex usually delays delivery, especially in rural areas.  They have to transfer it to the USPS, and then the Post Office has to process.  I ship via USPS only, and get fast delivery at a lower cost than Fedex, especially if I use Priority Mail (often in two days).   Fedex seems to go after business-to-business, and I guess they're okay if you're in a big city, but residential delivery seems to be a problem for them, especially when they transfer to the Post Office.  I don't understand why ebay sellers use them.  Maybe a kickback to the shipping clerk.

I agree with SPINJIM too.

I ask our post master about it.  She believes the FEDEX guys get behind and don't want to full with a handful of rural deliveries. They do pay the postage.

It does delay delivery. My big deal is we are paying to have it shipped to our door. When they pull these stunts we have to go to the post office and pick up.

UPS is the best but does cost the most. I like Priority Mail too. I avoid FEDEX

Dam :techie-ebay:FedEx, USPS and UPS.  Order two at a time so there is extra for the next build and you don't have wait around for the order to come in.

It's not eBay's fault. eBay does not sell or ship, but they are a venue for sellers. Sellers choose who they will use for shipping, usually (at least in my case) the least expensive. Then it is up to the seller to get the item to the shipper. FedEx Smartpost is the worst. The only recourse for buyers is to make a claim to eBay if it doesn't arrive by the date started in the ad.

I use eBay all the time and if I do my part by shipping on a timely basis, and use a reliable shipper, my buyers have no problem.

Always look at the seller's feedback rating before deciding to buy. Look at the shipping info. See how he's going to ship and look at the guaranteed delivery date.

Just my 2 cent's worth.

I have sold quite a bit on :techie-ebay: and always use USPS First Class Package (or priority for heavy stuff) with good results. With the discount they offer it is the best price and I make a point of getting it to the post office by noon the day after the sale at the latest.

Many larger sellers offer more than one shipping method, for a little more money you can select your method of shipping. You can look at the seller's feedback to find out how dependable they are. If I have any doubt I avoid doing business with sellers that have less than 98%. In most cases I have found that packages I've sent and things I ordered arrive on time or a day early.

UPS or Fed Ex. Don't matter. I order parts at work. If it is a non important part I get it in 2 days. If it is an important part:

A. Substitute driver cannot find our shop

B. Driver drops it off at another address that our organization has.

C. Puts another label with the wrong address on top of the label with the correct address.

Bought a toneau and Weather Tech floor mats for my truck. Fed Ex 2 days

Order a Weather Tech item for my wife as a present and order it so in 2 days she will be at work and won't see it arrive. Get it in 5 days and it's a Saturday and she's home!

Shipping has changed a lot in recent years, like SpinJim says packages can go anywhere.  I live in mid-Michigan, and Eaton Rapids is my hometown -- from ER it goes to Lansing, then West to Grand Rapids,  then often East to Washington, DC, "a National Regional Distribution Center", then to where I sent it (it is all recorded on the tracking information page).  To help with local delivery problems included your phone number on the order label.  More and more frequently for me a 3 ounce First Class bubble mailer takes 2-3 weeks to arrive.  You'll find that Amazon and Walmart are the only packages that seem arrive on time, USPS does the local deliveries for them.

eBay is only a listing service and resells nothing, but they will help track a package, --- always ask for a tracking number when ordering parts, at least you can follow where it's going, in real time.

Still can’t drive a car, when tried, reaction time is too slow.  Can do most things now, I just get tired quickly.  Have been working in our workshop, casting now, just slower than before and no strength. We buy milk in 1/2 gal. bottle now, can’t lift an 8# gal. bottle of milk.

I want to get better much faster; P/T’s say I’m doing very well with progress.

Not to get too far off track, but human growth hormones are showing promise in helping stroke victims.  Less fatigue and better recovery of cognitive abilities.

Glad to hear that you are progressing as well as you are.
