That's a great idea. They look fantastic.

Here in Maine we don't get slabs. They are turned into chips.

Very nice looking flower bed and a wonderful idea for you wife. Also good way to memorialize your pet.

When we run a saw mill at the tractor shows here, the slabs turn into next years steam engine fuel.

I used to purchase big bundles of slabs from the mill, first for $10/ bundle, then $20 for quite some time.  I went through 1-1/2 bundles per month.  Even after their price gouge, it was the cheapest and easiest main heat source I have come across yet.

It’s good to see good slabs put to another good use!  They look like cedar?  I imagine that flower bed will be in good shape for many years to come.  What a great memorial for man and woman’s best friend!

Maybe she will have a surprise for you when she gets home. Good luck and a great ideal. Our pets are our children when or kids leave home.

Well, it didn't turn out like I wanted because of the constant rain ( which I refuse to complain about), but the boy and I got enough of the overgrown flowerbed (dad couldn't do it for years before he passed) cut away and sat the bed in place. It'll need a little more soil on top. What's in there now is manure/compost from Lowe's and a big bag of rabbit manure from our friend's rabbitry.
