lae1967 35 #1 Posted April 30, 2019 The fins on my K341 have a fair amount of rust, I came across KBS coatings and was thinking of using their KBS Klean and Rust blast to prep for painting, I'm checking with them on if their Rust Seal can handle the heat. Has anyone used it on an engine? I don't want to coat it with something that might cause it to overheat. OR am I overthinking this and just need to spray it after cleaning and move on? Thanks for any input.

953 nut 56,165 #3 Posted April 30, 2019 Eric nailed it. Heat transfer is the important thing here and paint doesn't transfer heat as well as metal. Clean the fins well, but don't sand them smooth or paint them unless this is going to be a total trailer queen. 1
