adsm08 2,022 #1 Posted April 28, 2019 So last week I picked up an 855 off FaciePages. I've been around later (still pre-Toro) WheelHorses most of my life, but I'm still learning the ins and outs of this one. I've taken it from not running, to mowing over the last week, and aside from still dialing in the carb, which needs a new base gasket (should be here tomorrow) before I worry about it too much. One thing that I'm not having a lot of luck finding info on, and an option I have never run across before, is the attachment raise/lower system is run by a hydraulic pump belt driven off the engine, rather than a manual lever. Now the system works, but the pump is leaking pretty good, it seems to be coming from around the pulley shaft seal, but I can't find any info on this thing. The part number on the pump is either A400WH or A4CCWH, the tag is dirty and worn and hard to read. There is a sticker under that, which is not very hard to read, that specified a "Wheel Horse XXX" number for the fluid, so I'm pretty sure this isn't something someone went and retrofitted after the factory. Does anyone know anything about this, or where I can get a seal kit? There is a big WH show near me in a few weeks that I plan to go to, but I plan for this to be my primary mower and winter plower, so I'd like to get it fixed sooner than later. I don't have any good pictures of the pump right now, I can try to get some tomorrow, but it is cold and dark here now.
