So I flew to Virginia for the day so my wife picked it up. There was no way she was gonna tell the guy that they shoulda had it in stock  .

The Autozone belt (that didn’t work) was like $7.50, this gold infused NAPA belt was over $24!!! GULP! Sure hope it does the trick.

Gold infused. I’m going to use that today when I pick up a fuel pump. :) We used to sell a cheaper line of belt constructed like your auto zone belt. They worked great for about 6 months then would start glazing terribly NAPA dropped them after a couple of years.

Mike I looked every where and all paper work for the 8hp gen belt. I only had one 8 hp so may be that is why. Lots of 10nand 12 hp info. OK

Sucks when you have to get locally because they kill you on price. I try to get my stuff on line for less than half the price but when you need it you need it..

Somthin's rotten in Denmark Sparkeye or they seen you coming.... I just picked up a 34 incher from Napa for a big block and it was like 12 Georges? I'll have to look at the receipt again. Guess a guys just gotta get them the old fashion way Like Stevebo says off the jungle site or fleabay. Course ya never know what yer gonna get either and a bit harder to take it back and tell them to stuff it if it's poor quality.

That gold infused belt cost me $22.99 and I have an account! .  You got the same price I did. :confusion-confused: You get what you pay for. When I was working at the hospital We had critical fans, AHU's ect. Manegement wanted to save money so they started buying Dayton (Grainger, Browning, Ect. Same thing with cheapo filters. How much money are you saving if I have to replace everything twice a year? Our new building had spring loaded tensioners on all the fans and the darn belts would last 4 month's tops before they were cracked. I finally did some size digging and replaced all of them with the Napa Premium XL  cogged belts and they were on there over 2 years. The schools I'm in now have piles of the cheapo belts. All junk. I get them Gates (Same as Napa ) from McMaster -Carr . We put them on and won't even have to check again for a year.

Installed the gold infused belt tonight...perfect fit and I’m thrilled. That makes it worth the price to me so far and if it last for years and years then that’s a plus.

One thing that is sure to last forever is the shaming your wife will give you for "Overpaying".               :ychain:

WHX??

Ok here's another belt issue.

All research points to a 34 incher for the big blocks. I had two on the shelf. the one pictured and a Napa 25-7340.

Note how tight the tension slot is. almost looks like a 35 could be used?  The Napa belt I could not even get the bolt started so must be a bit shorter.

This engine is a K301.

Not sure what is running on  all the other big blocks I have. would have to pull belt guards to check  but pretty sure not this tight.

Not cogged belts but it's run what I brung  ... or have. :)

It sure appears to be sitting a bit high in the pulley grooves like it's just a tad to wide. Maybe the cogged belts have a different angle on the sides.

I never really thought about that until @squonk brought it a few days ago on that other belt thread

For big blocks you need a 25-7345. 13/32" x 35 3/8"

So what you are saying is the 34 in the PN isn't the actual belt length?

Obviously the 5 on the end of the PN instead of a 0 tells alot about the belt size.

Power Rated fractional HP belts:

3L top width 3/8"

4L "         "     1/2"

5L "         "      21/32"

The number on the belt is the actual outside circumference. They are the only belt series that do this. 3L340 is a 3/8" x 34" belt.

B Series belts go up 3 inches. B80 is an 83"  belt. A series go up 2 inches. A80 is 82"
