Anybody has a good advice for collecting Birch Tap

Recommended Posts

Hi to all,

our birches in the Yard seems to explode because it‘s Spring, so far this is normal.

The only issue, that annoyes me, was the Taps, they now falling in mass on the ground.

Until now i collect them manually with a Plastic rake, what works more or less good.

Sure i can rake them further, but did annyone have a „Horsefriendly“ solution for that?

i thinking about leaf collector, but before i try, i wanna ask if you had a better suggestion.

i try it today with a Push Mower to collect them, but they seems to heavy, to get collected by the mower.

Few will be picked, but the most are still in the Grass and i wanna remove them without rake the whole ground by Hand.

Any suggestions?

Depends on how much room you have to use a lawn sweeper. I use one on the green but there's plenty of room. Have you thought of using a self propelled  rotary mower.

A Billy Goat would soon clean them up. This one of mine needs a collection bag. That powerful if on concrete it goes into self propelled mode.
