Shifting Issue

Recommended Posts

BCrea02370

I have a Wheel Horse 212-6 that I'm trying to save from the scrap pile and when I start the unit step on the Clutch/Brake and put it into gear all is fine, while in gear if i come to a complete stop by pressing down on the Clutch/Brake and attempt to shift it into another gear I can't.  I have to shutoff the motor move it to Neutral restart the motor and then shift into the desired gear. Does anyone know of what could be causing this shifting issue and what can be done to resolve this.

Thanks

-Bob

Have you looked at this manual?

Know nothing about them but have often read where the shift keys wear and cause a problem.

In the peerless gear are 2 pulling wedges, they will be moved by the Lever via a link from the shiftknob.

if those 2 pulling wedges are wear, than the Gearshift stucks.

the are located between shaft and Gear.

will look to find a pict, that clear it.

simple to repair and not to expensive.

That vid shall clear it.

on 212 shift Gear it is similar between 4, 5 or 6 gang gear

Edit:

I forgot to tell you, ahead please check, if the belt will be good and the beltclutch releases if pedal is pressed.

If the link to the Beltclutch is wear too much, the belt didn‘t releases completley and the still onstanding traction prevents an easy shifting while pedal is depressed.

All, I realized the new Drive Belt I put on was slightly tighter than the one I took off so I loosen the eccentric all the way and it shifts just fine now.

Thanks
