They keep selling garbage

About 6 months ago went to Home Depot to buy more bungies to replenish supply from loosing them or lending them out. I was surprised (not really) to find that they no longer carried ones made in the US. They have a Husky brand Chinese made. Needed them so I bought them.

below is the result after a couple of months outside compared to a US made one that I had outside for at least 10 years. Plain disgusting.

The ones I purchased would not stretch like the older USA made ones did.  They were more like trying to stretch leather than rubber.

Part of the plan.Sell junk and get US dollars.We look at the crap and think they produce inferior junk.Thats what they ship here.The Chinese keep the good stuff at home.Don't be fooled, they can and do produce top of the line items in all areas.We just don't get to see it.

My experience with Chinese Things was, it depends on, where and what you buy, except all rubber parts.

 

In chinese that was called “rubber“ is not the same meaning than here in Germany or the US.

Rubber seemt, a more or less flexible Plastic, that mostly didn‘t last long.

All parts made of rubber i got from Chinese was not lasting long.

 

On other things it depends on, sometimes you got usable quality - but that kind of sellers are rare, sometimes you got Just crap.

Also on fuel lines, they should be made of rubber, they didn‘t last long, thats the reason i change this parts immediately.

 

On the other hand i also purchased a so called „brand belt“ what didn‘t lasted long.

I think they produce or let it produce it in China, because they producing a lot cheaper.

 

On timing belts and at normal friction belts i just choose a bit expensiver better quality Brands.

 

on all other things my motto is, you got what you pay for.

some things are not realy bad and some things are just crap.

I have yet to find anything coming from China that is not 'crap'.  When there is a choice, I purchase nothing from China.  The Chinese have killed our pets, by adding indigestible material as filler to save money in their manufactured pet foods.  They have murdered countless innocent people world wide, including some in the U. S. because of substituting the cheaper Ethylene Glycol as a sweetening agent in toothpaste & mouthwash.  Anyone who purchases any fish or seafood product from Chine is just begging for disease, because their fish & seafood ponds & beds are nothing but community sewer ponds, with the fish & seafood living and growing in human excrement.  

 

Unfortunately the Chinese are one of the largest manufactures of pharmaceutical products distributed in the U. S. and the recent blood pressure medicines containing substances adulterated & contaminated with carcinogens which again were substituted for more costly ingredients, is but the tip of the iceberg in our pharmaceutical industry. 

 

You may have noticed, substances of inferior, toxic and a poisonous nature being substituted for the proper but more expensive ingredients has been a common theme among the products produced in China.  If you value your life, do not consume anything produced or coming from China.

I absolutely don't understand how the World Court can allow China to continue to violate copyright and patent laws - the number of absolute spot-on copies they produce in products from tools to vehicles is staggering - lawsuits are a constantly ongoing, but uphill battle for those that own those copyrights. A few years ago when BMW released their newest high-end SUV, the Chinese copied it so well you couldn't tell them apart when parked next to each other - yet, the World Court decided that was just fine. The examples have no limit - pick a product.

 

In my favorite list of things to own, tools are absolutely at the top. Yeah, I'm a tool *****, lol. The part that is irritating is the Chinese copying old or even new tool designs, violating copyright and patent laws and driving the price sky-high on the used tools sold here in the US. To buy very nice examples of high-quality US/German/Japanese tools have gotten out of reach for most of us. In fact, most things are going well beyond any sane level of new, retail pricing. Lately, it has gotten a bit better if for no other reason than the saturation of items showing up on the big auction site and other places - prices are finally coming down. Machinery, however, seems to just keep climbing from the saturation of all our old core brands being bought out and moving manufacturing to China to increase profits. So, even on lower cost items such as a decent drill press or similar - one that is half clapped out from wear that was made 50yrs ago is worth 10 times more than a new one. Hand tools are headed in the same direction - some of the things I bought 30+yrs ago are now worth some serious money - all thanks to the profiteering Chinese market. I think the worst part of all is their government support to drive our manufacturing into the ground - that is something that is far too hard to compete with in the end. There are a few core brands left here that are still good, but they have slipped pretty bad in overall quality to compete with the Chinese - Channelock is a great example. That company used to make some indestructible pliers - but now they are lower end on their best day from my experience.

 

Their involvement in drugs and food is downright scary. I will not buy any chicken product that is not sold fresh unless I can read for a fact of where it was sourced and produced. The rules now have allowed too much lack of disclosure - so you really do not know where your food comes from. Locally here, we have a small grocery store that is owned by a family farming/ranching operation - their food quality is awesome and has become a favorite with the local population. Otherwise, your choice is the common run of the mill stores that sell from the general market products that are mass produced by unknown sources - and the quality of those products reflects it. Seafood has been the worst market of all - unless the fish is purchased close to one of our coastal regions you can't trust it. "Wild caught in China" means nothing - don't even think it is actually caught in any sort of ocean, so buyer beware. Here, we have one fish market that brings in fresh-frozen choices directly from the US coasts on a daily basis - you pay more for the stuff, but the quality is far beyond anything else we can buy here in the Midwest. I used to eat a lot of different fish, both bought from the stores as well as stuff I've caught myself when in the season but I haven't done that for a few years now due to water quality and the pollution from mass Corporate farming. Food is quickly becoming a problem both in cost and quality - they are forcing the garbage on our markets and sending our best products elsewhere for more profits. Another example of a slow death for our population - just like the pharma markets. Pet food is one of the worst examples - I try to stick with known, small companies that make grain-free products that are proven to be sourced from a region here and not overseas, which has gotten to be really tough. Just the fact that manufacturers can hide where things are source should be a crime. The politicians that benefit from Corporate interests funding their elections have lost the incentive to protect our citizens for the flood of easy campaign money - all thanks to Citizens United by the Supreme Court. Unless that ruling is overturned by Congress - I see no way things can better, only worse. To add to the problem, now the population is getting their information from unknown sources on Social Media - driven by foreign interests and Corporate profit. Our citizens have been taught not to think for themselves to the point of actually voting against their own well-being. The next major election is going to be a farce that will make the 2016 fiasco seem minor in comparison. Where do we go from here?

 

I hope I'm wrong - but, in the meantime, I'm just sitting back watching what they do, not what they say. Don't buy into the marketing hype, make up you're own mind and do your due diligence when buying anything in this modern world. Leave out the flashy packaging, bright colors and advertising - if it looks like crap, feels like crap, or tastes like crap - well, its crap, plain and simple. The same goes with the Politicians - the more they spew what you want to hear the more it shows their influence of mass campaign money - they are not looking out for your interests, but instead the interests of the hidden investors looking to profit from their actions.
