squonk 41,022 #1 Posted April 13, 2019 (edited) After 60 yrs, 3 surgeries (1 back) and 2 stents I finally decided to pamper myself. Almost a Qtr. million miles on the Tundra and it was time. Picked up this 2013 GMC Sierra SLT 78,000 mi. Only thing it doesn't have is a moon roof and rear defogger. Buttons everywhere. I hit one by accident and the mirrors folded in. Hit another one and the mirrors ,seat , and pedals moved. Really digging the 10 way power seat and Bose sound. Finally had a nice day for some pics. Just waiting for my Weather Tech mats to arrive. I'll be Stylin an Profilin! Edited April 13, 2019 by squonk 11
Stormin 9,981 #2 Posted April 13, 2019 Nice truck Mike. Only the steering wheel, throttle and brake pedals are on the wrong side. 2

I had to work on one of those mail trucks with the steering on the right. I couldn't even drive it on the lift !
Stormin 9,981 #4 Posted April 13, 2019 I think I'd have trouble with the pedals. Our throttle is on the right and brake on the left. Could make things interesting.
BOB ELLISON 2,980 #5 Posted April 13, 2019 I know just what you mean Mike. Getting old takes its toll on a man and I like getting in and go. I don't like working on my car or truck anymore. So I ordered a new 2019 Dodge Big Horn loaded truck and get it monday. This is like my new one. 5

Stormin 9,981 #9 Posted April 13, 2019 Thought it was a bit strange. SIL had a LH drive Chevy van some years back. I drove that ok. Though it did have a tendency to want to go on the right side of the road. I jest not.

Pullstart 62,787 #15 Posted April 14, 2019 Congrats on the new ride Mike! We’ve got a few of those 5.3/auto 4x4 packages around, they sure are nice running machines! The closest we have to that one is an ‘11 and it loves to eat up the #6 spark plug every 10-15,000 miles. It goes through some oil too, I suspect that cylinder. It’s something to keep an eye on, our local oil change tech says GM suggests 1 qt of oil every 1000 miles is normal.

I believe the DOD (displacement on demand) AFM (active fuel management) is the main culprit , cylinders 4&6 3&5 are the ones that shut down, here's a quick read....https://www.onallcylinders.com/2017/11/30/how-to-delete-or-disable-active-fuel-management-afm-on-gm-engines/...some people have issues others don't. I have a 2014 Silverado Z71 so far so good.

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #19 Posted April 14, 2019 That’s a beauty Mike. You definitely deserve a nice vehicle that you can enjoy rather than wrenching on it! Hopefully that one will treat you well for many, many miles. Who would’ve ever thought back in the 70’s that someday a pickup truck would be as “plush” as a car on the inside? Talk about “having your cake and eating it too”... This means you have no excuse not to come to J&C’s Plow Day IV in the fall!!!! I know that between Jim and I, we certainly would have the guest room space...
