So I bought the 312-H last weekend and I've been mowing with it trying to catch up from last year and whip the property back into respectable shape. After a little bit the deck stopped moving up/down. No Big deal, as it was at a decent height just proceeded more cautiously.  Last night I pulled the deck off to check the blades (actually to swap them out for a set of Gator Blades) and found out why the deck wouldn't raise/lower.  Whomever last installed the deck, didn't get the lift arm through the slot. They used a ZIP TIE!!!! that didn't last haha

So I need to order parts for this, and yes I know all 42" Decks should be the same...I'd still REALLY like to be able to read the Tag ... I can make out a 5 and a 4 ... but that's about it.

Overall it's in good shape. The belt was beyond shot, it just flopped around. There are only two real rust holes that need to be repaired, though one is the size of my fist (it wasn't that large, but I had a piece of wood come out and slightly enlarge it last night). Still shouldn't take much to whip it back into shape. All the spindles took grease easily. Stole the belt and blades off another 42" deck while I wait for parts so I can finish the other half of the property.

You didn't specify what year your tractor is so assuming it is the original deck that came with the tractor. In this list look up your year tractor and these are the decks that could be on  your tractor . This is only a start for your question.

hope this helps.

If it has 5/8" spindles at the top it has Metric Spindles. The bearings are number  6203  40 mm  O. D. x 17 mm I. D.  and 12 mm thick. The parts for any late model 42" side discharge deck should work.

Most likely one of these decks

1986-1988 model 05-42MS05

1989 model 15-42SC01

1990 model 15-42SC02

1990-1992 model 15-42SC03

1993-2007 and 2009-2012 model 78345 -  These decks all use blades with a 3/4" center hole.
